A basic checklist before wiring a business network

Before installing cabling, switches or firewalls, define capacity, security, growth and operational risk points.

A stable business network starts before the first cable is installed. Discovery should clarify user count, critical equipment, expected growth, coverage, power backup and security rules.

It is also important to separate services with VLANs, document ports, define IP ranges and leave room for expansion. When these points are ignored, future changes become more expensive and risky.

A good implementation leaves diagrams, labels, backed-up configurations and a clear support path.
